On december 10th, I traveled to Scranton, Pa for the wedding of Shaina and Brennan. The day began at Shaina's parents house for preparations. Everyone was ready for the holidays, but even more excited for the wedding. Next it was off to the Holy Rosary Church for the ceremony for the classic winter wedding. After the vows, Shaina and Brennan were led back down the isle by a bag piper and it was off to a local art gallery for some photos before the reception at Florelli.

shannon + shaun- Pittsburgh, Pa: Wedding Videography
On October 9th I travel to Pittsburgh for wedding planner Shanon and her fiancee Shaun's wedding. I had never filmed in Pittsburgh before so it was great to have a change of scenery. The day began with getting ready at Shannon's parents house. Next it was on to the beautiful St. Paul's Cathdral for the ceremony. After the couple was hitched we took some pictures around town and then it was time for the reception at the Fairmont, Pittsburgh. Nothing could have went better, the weather was perfect, all arrangements were in place and all the planning was well worth the time. Photography was completed by Joanne Bartone and playing the sounds of the night was 3d sound. Best wishes, Shannon and Shaun- great wedding, thank you for having me be a part of it!!!

sara + james: cape cod wedding videography
September 25th - Sara and James got married. I traveled to cape cod for the event, and I am so happy I did... great wedding. From the moment I met Sara and Jamie their connection and love for each other was very evident. They each got ready at their parents homes and then met up at the Bourne Farm where both the ceremony and reception were held. It was a perfect early fall day and every detail was in place. The ceremony was followed by a fantastic reception and the K2 Band play the tunes of the night. There to capture plenty of great shots was Kate Femino. Below is there montage set to their first dance song.

megan + brian- boston, ma wedding videography
September 17th I traveled to boston to film Megan and Brian's wedding. They met in Boston, so it was the perfect location for the event! Preparations began at the Hyatt in Cambridge with great views of the city, then it was off to Charlestown where the ceremony was held at St. Mary's Church where a bagpiper was outside to greet guests. Flowers were from Stapleton. After the ceremony it was off to a park close by for pictures and to meet up with Megan and Brian's dog- although he missed the ceremony he was still sporting a tux collar. We then traveled back to the Hyatt for the reception where the cup cake wedding cake was waiting from Konditor Meister and tunes from The Swinging Johnsons was enjoyed by all. Photography was by Lisa Frechette who was great to work with. Enjoy their montage below completed in our vintage style.

The photographers (ciras photography) and myself then got some shots outside the reception location, The Royal Sonesta Hotel. Lori + Kris- Methuen, Ma wedding videography
September 4th... Lori and Kris got married. The high school sweethearts traveled home from California to tie the knot in Methuen, Mass. Again we had great weather, a set of wonderful locations and tons of details that made for a perfectly planned wedding... but more importantly there was Lori and Kris- a couple that was truly meant for each other. Again I had the opportunity to work with photographer Leah Haydock which is always a blast- I am sure she will have some fantastic shots of the day on her blog, so be sure to check them out. Lori and Kris went with a traditional style for their montage set to their wedding song "heaven" by Jason Aldean and Bryan Adams

jennifer + scott- Boston, Ma wedding videography
On the 28th of August Jennifer and Scott got married. Again we were lucky with great weather and even better locations for the elegant affair. Jennifer got ready at her parents house in Medford with every brides made pitching in to help. The ceremony was at the St Raphael Parish in Medford, MA which was beautiful with great lighting and stain-glass windows which gave a nice purplish blue tone- oh and it was air conditioned!!! From there it was off to the Boston Public Gardens for photographs by Rob Brown. It was great working with Rob and his 2nd shooter Douglas Levy- check out their work, fantastic stuff! The reception was then at the Hyatt Regency.

Syracuse, Ny- Corporate video
So I took a break from weddings yesterday... kind of, and filmed a corporate video for AOL & Joseph Anthony & Co in Syracuse, Ny. The video is to be a part of an AOL series "what's hot in my salon". The topic of weddings came up while completing the piece on "Cyber Imaging" so I thought I would share. With the in house technology at Joseph Anthony, they can snap a picture and within minutes review a number of different hair styles and coloring options. Before executing, the stylist can show you what it will look like and discuss why some options might be better then others. Check out the video on the process in action.

melissa + nathan- Boston, Ma wedding videography
August 7th, 2010- Melissa and Nathan got married. I traveled to Taunton, Ma to film the event. The day began at Melissa's parents house where she did her own makeup (she's use to being on camera, so she's a pro). Then it was on to Saint Anthony's Church for the ceremony where Melissa arrived in horse and carriage, Nathan and crew were patiently awaiting in the church cafeteria. The day was perfect and was only made more beautiful with flowers from Winston's. After the vows the newly weds hoped on to the horse and carriage and were on there way to the Boston Harbor Hotel for the reception. Before being announced, Jennifer Leatherwood (photographer) and I got some shots out by the waterfront- the perfect setting. Soul City played the tunes of the night, and the staff at the Boston Harbor did a fantastic job ensuring everyone had a great time! Their montage was completed in a vintage theme set to "sitting on the dock of the bay" a perfect combo (and a song Nathan played on the guitar for Melissa on their first date)

lunda + jonathan- Saratoga Springs, Ny wedding videography
August 1, 2010 Lunda and Jonathan got married! I traveled to beautiful Saratoga Springs, NY to film the event. The day began in Ballston Spa at Make Me Fabulous for hair and make up. The girls had a great time relaxing and getting prepped for the day. Next we moved onto the National Museum of Dance in Saratoga Springs, the perfect setting for the ceremony! All details were in place and on time. There to capture all the photographs, was Leah Haydock. I have worked with Leah before and it is always a pleasure!!! Check out her blog entries on the wedding- AMAZING! After the ceremony it was off to the Yardo Gardens for a few wedding party shots and then on to the Saratoga National Golf Course for the reception. Creating the soundtrack for the night was Bobby Dick and the Sundowners in addition to some family members taking the mic. Below is there montage completed in a traditional style to Regina Spektor "us"

elizabeth + joe- Boston, Ma wedding videography
July 31, 2010- Elizabeth and Joe got married! Elizabeth got ready at the Seaport Hotel and looked amazing for the day thanks to make up artist Natalie Lelless- I have worked with Natalie a couple of times and would highly recommend her! The ceremony and reception were held at the Exchange Conference Center catered by Legal Seafoods. There to capture all the photographs was Amy Newman. Enough about the vendors- Elizabeth and Joe had a great day... clearly had a fun time at their wedding- and made it easy for everyone to shed a tear b/c they are so much in love. For their video montage they wanted it edited in a traditional style to one of Joe's favorite songs- "smile" which was perfect- there was a lot of smiling (not staged- I swear!!!). Congratulations Elizabeth and Joe, I really enjoyed being there to film!

Erica Abdo was the makeup artist and the staff at the Mirbeau provided the catering.
Ellen + Matthew- Ithaca, Ny wedding videography
Ellen and Matt were married on July 17th at La Tourelle in Ithaca, Ny. It was a great location for their 2 families to meet and spend some time in the finger lakes as well as witness their vows. A picture perfect day, paired with lots of family, friends and love set the tone for the outdoor ceremony. The reception followed in the ballroom at the resort. Photography was by Genevieve Fridley, who was a great pleasure to work with. Make up was done by Charisse Lucente and the sounds of the night were provided by United Sound.

Emily & Rob- Lake Placid wedding videography
We are going a little out of order here- but for good reason... Emily and Rob contracted us to film their wedding the night before, but we were so happy to accommodate! Emily and Rob have had a busy start to their summer to say the least- they both just graduated from medical school, started new jobs, bought a house and got married- yikes! So when it took them a little time to decide on songs and editing style it was completely understandable.
We traveled to Lake Placid on May 29th to film the event, they could not have asked for a better day- absolutely perfect!
The ceremony was at St Agnes Church with the reception to follow at the Lake Placid Club- both were amazing! Standing by to capture all the shots was Andrea Casey- it was great working with Andrea- I would highly recommend her!!!

Chrissy & Brian- Boston, ma wedding videography
On June 12th we travelled back to Boston for an amazing wedding. Chrissy and Brian are such an amazing fun couple with a love of life and family that is hard to miss. Joy was written on their faces all day and you could see the peace they felt knowing that they had found each other and had the world at its feet to do anything they set their minds to, knowing they would do it together!
The bride got ready at her parents' house in Lynn, MA. Which I'm sure was both emotional and surreal for her parents, looking at her preparing for her wedding day in rooms that she used to run around in as a child. Chrissy's makeup was done by, "Makeup by Brea". She had her hair done by Backstage Hair Studio located in Peabody, MA.
The ceremony took place at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Lynn, MA. It was an amazing ceremony in an equally amazing church. The setting was more than inspirational to film there, with the glass, artwork, and balcony for an amazing overhead shot. The photographer was Samantha Melanson from The Studio Noir, who I'm sure got fantastic shots as well. Samantha was a pleasure to work with and her photographic vision is very similar to my film style and will make for an excellent package for Chrissy & Brian.
The reception was held at the Hilton in Boston, MA. It was filled with friends and family who spent the evening eating, dancing, and celebrating the union of Chrissy & Brian. Congratulations and have fun in Greece!!

Kara & Chris- New Hampshire wedding videography
On June 26th we travelled to New Hampshire for the wedding of Kara and Chris. The ceremony was at the St. Anseim College Church and the Reception at the Bedford Village Inn. Both locations were beautiful, especially the inn. It was the perfect site with it's gorgeous gardens and the rustic feel. It was open and rustic and gave us fantastic angles! Everything for the day was impeccably detailed right down to the bride's "something blue" toenail polish! The photographer was Pentimalli Studios. They did a fantastic job and look forward to seeing their final images.
The only hiccup of the day was that Kara's brother got stuck on 93 N with car trouble...but he still made it in time for the "I dos"! It was a pleasure filming and being a part of this wedding and wish Kara and Chris a fantastic time on their honeymoon in Hawaii! We'll be seeing you both again soon at Joelle and Brian's wedding in September!
Jillian & Bobby- Cape Cod wedding videography
The perfect Cape wedding...that was the scene of Jillian and Bobby's wedding on June 19th. I don't know if it was the magic of the Cape or if it really was the most serene picturesque day to get married. It was one of the nicer days we've filmed this wedding season. I know the photographer, Rachel Kate, must have had a field day shooting in such a great location and weather! The bride got ready at a friend's beach house; her make-up was applied on the side patio in the natural sunlight of the day by Kimberly Richard. It was such a change of pace; relaxed and calm...her mother watched as her daughter got ready for her wedding day and may have shed a tear or two.
The ceremony took place in North Falmouth at the Church of Saint Elizabeth Seton. Afterwards we went out to the beach for pictures and candid setting footage. The reception followed in a large white tent at The Brookside Club in Bourne, MA. Everyone had a great time on the dance floor, eating, drinking, and mingling the joy of the day just filtered through all of the 200+ guests.
It was such a great time and can't wait for my next visit down to the cape...it has a style all it's own. Thank you Jillian and Bobby and we wish you all the best!

Amanda & Michael- Boston, Ma wedding videography
We had the opportunity to get to know Amanda and Michael a little before the wedding.... they had wanted a slideshow of them growing up for their rehearsal dinner which is such a great thing to have when gathered with all your closest friends and family. I've done them in the past and it can be a lot of work sorting through all those years of photos. But that was not the case here, Amanda was incredibly organized and I can't thank her enough. It made putting it together a breeze! We had met a couple of times to go over details and again very organized and such a pleasure. By the way Amanda, Madeline says Hi!!
It was a perfect day... probably the best wedding day weather all summer so far, but more importantly- perfect couple, so clear that they are best friends and a perfect match.
On June 11th we travelled to Boston to capture their wedding day. Amanda and Michael's house was where the day began with the girls getting ready. The make-up artist came and tended to them all. It seemed as though the bridal party all had a hand in preparing Amanda for her walk down the aisle.
The ceremony was in Belmont, MA at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the reception at the Montvale Plaza. Working alongside us was the photographer Todd Cliff of TNC Photo. He did a fantastic job and I welcome the next wedding we share. The florist was Jayne's Flowers in Boston--really classic and beautiful.
Amanda and Michael thank you for sharing your day with us, it was truly a pleasure!

Kate & Erfan- Ithaca, Ny wedding videography
On June 5th we were asked to film Kate & Erfan's wedding at Cornell University. The photos were taken prior at the AD White House, the bride and groom, bridal party, and family looked amazing as did the gardens. It was beautiful to shoot there. The day couldn't have been better. It was a day that future brides and grooms dream of having on their big day! The photographer was Randy Ahart of Photo Pink NYC. He did a great job with them and got some amazing shots! We love working with photographer's that are passionate about their work as Randy was! It was great working with you Randy, hopefully we can do it again real soon.
The bride and groom are Cornell graduates that travelled from outside Washington, DC to get married at their Alma Mater. The ceremony was held at Sage Chapel which opened in 1875, a truly historic and beautiful venue. The reception followed at Willard Straight Hall. The pride of Cornell was evident in the crimson wedding colors and the spirit of the night. The love between Kate and Erfan couldn't have been any clearer. You instantly understood that they had fallen in love here and shared so many amazing moments that they had to celebrate their union at the place where their love was born. Every detail was thoroughly thought through to maintain the historic feel of the event; from the 1930's Rolls Royce, clean line tuxes, and the classic wedding cake.
We were so happy to share this day with Kate & Erfan and wish them many years of happiness together! Thank you!

Taking Time...
As wedding season approaches I'm trying to spend as much with the family as I can. My wife and I purchased a new swing for our daughter and I just couldn't help myself. We put her in it and she just couldn't stop smiling and she loved the wind blowing in her hair! My wife picked a piece of music that just totally captures the mood and feel of that afternoon. Just such a 180 from what were used to that now the little moments seem that much more magical. Having lived in the city for eight years and now living in the country with expansive fields on all sides of us and the smell of fresh air...lets just say it's easy to get inspired--not that my little one doesn't do that on a daily basis!! She'll have more footage racked up than my wife and I put together before she's one!!
Which got me thinking...I'll be putting together a "First Year" montage of my daughter to show at her birthday party and I thought everyone should have the opportunity to have something like this of their children. I will be adding it to my offerings and would love to hear from you!

Summer Wedding Season has begun!- Mexico wedding videography
Our summer wedding season has officially begun! We just returned from Chris and Kerri's quintessential destination beach wedding. The wedding was held at Playa del Carmen, Mexico at the Bluebay Resort and Photographed by Carrie Wildes. It was a beautiful weekend and even with a "little" precipitation, still maintained it's magical tropical feeling. Kerri and Chris had been planning this day for a long time and on that day all the preparations had paid off. Both were surrounded by their friends and family and when the weather was playing tricks there were simple options to adjust the plans. What they mean to their friends was obvious, the large wedding party was there every step of the way and provided them with all the support they would need! It was amazing filming in this location. The sand, water, sun all worked like a well tuned instrument playing the soundtrack to Chris and Kerri's wedding film.
We were so happy to be a part of this wedding and love that it kicked off our 2010 summer season!
There are still dates available for 2010 so please call to have us film your wedding! Especially if we need to travel to a tropical paradise, given that I'm sitting here typing in pouring rain and low 60's weather!! It's mid-May right?!?!
Below is their montage which was completed in a traditional style with color grading to preserve the tropical location and feel of the event. We wanted to capture the warmth and tradition of the day. Enjoy!

First Posting-Welcome!
Welcome to the mayer video blog! We have decided to start this blog in order to keep in touch with past, current, and future clients. We plan to post completed montages as they happen and let you know what were up to on any given day! I'm sure most of you know Justin; but let me introduce myself, my name is Tiffany Mayer and I'm Justin's wife of almost 7 years. We recently had our first child, Madeline. I've always helped with the "background" work and now have taken on the task of maintaining this blog. I would be happy to make myself available to any of you.
Below is a couple links to different reviews. The first is a vendor spotlight from Leah Haydock Photography. Thanks Leah! The second is a link to WeddingWire reviews from past clients. Thank you to all of you who took the time to write a review we greatly appreciate it!

I couldn't tell you the first thing about the technical aspects of camera type or different file formats but I can speak from experience! Planning our wedding as well as helping with many others I can tell you that Justin's filming and editing style truly captures the day and peeks into those cherished moments that you hope that you'll remember but eventually forget. When people consider hiring a wedding videographer they think of those prime images of walking down the aisle, how your dress looked, the attendants, your first dance; but think of those in between bits. When the groom gets a touching card from the bride recounting their history and how they got to where they are today- moments before the ceremony begins and the excited manly exterior falls away and you see the softer emotional side of him that he wouldn't usually let people see. Those are the moments that touch your heart and can only be captured on film. Especially Justin's filming style, 90% of the time you'd never even know he was there or sometimes even filming holding the camera at his side.
There are days in our lives that become part of us, that hold on to us, and are never forgotten--but they do fade...Having a film of that day is not only a nice thing to have but in my opinion a requirement especially in this day and age. Looking at the wedding pictures of my grandparents I stop and think...I wonder what their wedding was like, how did they dance, what did the cake look like, and what did they're friends and family think of the day? I would love to have a film of their day! I plan to post some comments/reviews from past brides as well if you think I'm a little bias...which I may be!! :) What can I say I'm proud of him! He works incredibly hard and honestly edits each wedding as if it's ours. He'll stress on some of the littlest details and to be honest sometimes I can't even tell the difference, but to him its "make or break"! Most clients won't be able to tell the difference either but it's the subtle details that give you that overwhelming feeling of joy.
So I hope you all become followers and keep in touch! I would love to hear from you!
